Hieromartyr Pelagius of Constance († 283)

Pelagius was the son of wealthy Christian parents from Pannonia. He was a deacon and was killed as a young adult after cruel torture during the persecution of Christians under Numerian. Some of his relics are in Constance, where he is considered the patron saint. The worship of Pelagius spread from Constance to Switzerland. His memorial day is August 28 (September 10).
